Why Captain Bob?  Captain Bob is the biker nickname bestowed on me by a good friend during a ride out to Northern California a few years back.  While staying with family on this ride he quickly learned my family has always called me Bob.  That coupled with me leading most of the ride through the gold country, along the coast and mountains in the area I grew up he tagged me with Captain Bob.

In the weeks ahead I will be taking some downtime from work and a lot of people have been asking me what I plan to do with this time.  During the past few years my escape from the grind of the daily routine has been riding, therefore the obvious response “I am going to go ride”.

Currently I have two destinations in mind – Milwaukee during Labor Day Weekend when a lot of Harley activities are planned and a chance to visit the Harley Davidson Museum.  Late in September a niece is getting married and I will be traveling to California to attend.  No pre-planned routes to these destinations will just take it one day at a time.

Created this blog for anyone interested in what I might be up to during this absence.  Please feel free to follow along as it is my intention to post anything I come across during this journey that might of interest to anyone besides me.
